- Collaboration with Japan’s leading online shopping mall… Expanding sales channels through K-brand listings and logistics support
- Stable logistics operations using local fulfillment centers authorized for cosmetics and quasi-drugs… Faster delivery times
- Offering a range of services from domestic to international transportation… “Strengthening reverse direct purchase logistics to lead the spread of the K-WAVE”

CJ Logistics, an innovative technology company, is partnering with Japan’s leading online shopping mall Rakuten Ichiba to support Korean sellers entering the Japanese e-commerce market.
The company announced on the 23rd that it recently hosted the “Japan E-commerce Market Entry Strategy Seminar” at the CJ Human Resources Center in Jung-gu, Seoul, with around 70 attendees including domestic beauty and health supplement sellers and brand representatives. The seminar featured Rakuten Ichiba and transcosmos, a global BPO (Business Process Outsourcing) service provider, who introduced one-stop support solutions for Korean sellers entering Japan’s e-commerce market.
CJ Logistics plans to provide integrated logistics services—including domestic logistics, international shipping, and local Japanese logistics—for Korean companies seeking entry into Japan. Rakuten Ichiba will assist with account setup, product registration, and review management, while transcosmos will handle marketing tailored to Japanese consumers.
This partnership is significant as it directly connects Korean sellers with a platform that has real influence in the Japanese e-commerce market. With over 100 million member IDs, Rakuten enjoys high usage rates and trust, making it a strong channel for sellers. Through Rakuten Ichiba, Korean sellers are expected to effectively expand their sales channels and secure stable revenue growth opportunities.
CJ Logistics will operate stable logistics through Japanese fulfillment centers certified to handle cosmetics and quasi-drugs. Under Japan’s Pharmaceutical and Medical Device Act, logistics for cosmetics and health supplements must be processed at certified fulfillment centers. Three such centers—located in Saitama, Gunma, and Osaka—cover a total area of about 23,000㎡. In particular, the Saitama center is close to Tokyo, Japan’s consumption and distribution hub, allowing rapid and efficient response to rising e-commerce demand.
If Korean sellers pre-store products at these centers, all processes from packaging to shipment can be handled locally in a one-stop system. Delivery times are shortened by about 1–2 days compared to direct shipping from Korea, and inquiries are processed more quickly. The service covers not only B2C (direct to consumers) but also B2B demand (distributors and retailers), enabling sellers to diversify sales channels and further boost revenue opportunities.
CJ Logistics also integrates Rakuten order information with warehouse inventory data through its proprietary logistics system. This allows sellers to monitor real-time logistics operations, proactively replenish stock, and reduce risks such as order cancellations or customer churn due to inventory shortages.
Sellers can also utilize CJ Logistics’ services across the entire domestic and international transportation process. If products are stored at CJ Logistics’ domestic fulfillment centers, all steps—packaging, shipping, export clearance, air transport, and local import customs clearance—can be handled seamlessly in response to Japanese consumer orders. Customized logistics solutions can also be designed based on product characteristics and distribution channels, enhancing sellers’ operational efficiency and market responsiveness.
Previously, CJ Logistics partnered with global video platform TikTok to provide one-stop support services spanning platform entry, content marketing, payment, and logistics for sellers. Leveraging its unrivaled global logistics network and IT-driven operational capabilities, CJ Logistics is expanding its role beyond logistics to become a “global growth partner” supporting Korean sellers in entering and settling in overseas markets.
Jang Young-ho, Head of the IFS Division at CJ Logistics, stated:
“Based on our collaboration with Rakuten and our advanced reverse direct purchase logistics capabilities, we will actively support Korean sellers to successfully enter the Japanese market. Going forward, we will expand connections with global platforms and develop customized logistics solutions for each country and seller, taking the lead in spreading the K-WAVE.”
